a-green-horizon

By Mnemora

fog...smoke...black...
a wave of pollution streams forth from the screaming engine of industry.
Spires... towers that fill us with awe...
they blow thier chemical sludge into our atmosphere.
hundreds of feet in the air,
our eyes linger as they pierce the darkness.
the cloud clears and a truly marvelous scene blossoms.
A myriad of tainted colors fill the eyes of the seer,
stinging in it's sulfurous haze.
The colors of nature were drown from this place long ago.
Here, the laws of man are the rules of the land.
We have won, say the politicians as their pockets swell.
We have won.
We have poisoned our skies, killed our friends,
... betrayed our souls.
The hum of industry has all but drown out the plea of the earth,
and those of us who still hear it?
All we can do is sit.

and wait...
