A darker shade of white
By Mnemora
I've been waiting for so long for you
to see me, to give me a sign.
It's been an eternity since I've looked into your eyes,
and saw something that wasn't discontent.
I've been stuck in this schism for what seems like forever
around your green eyes I see a darker shade of white
A lie drips from your mouth...
and the density of my regret drags it into my darkest chasm
I've been waiting all my life for a chance to show myself to you
I drew you a hundred obvious signs
treated you like you were a queen,
but I can't help but hear a lie when you say i love you

Spot-on, cold reality of a fractured relationship. Kudos. -END
