Dearest Dissonance II: Snowfall Dreams

By Armour

Through her garden of acacia and orchid
Careful steps to guard from his morbid
He had stalked against time, so deft
With visions that billow of a rescuing theft

Under the moon in white ambitions
The culmination of umteen missions
Self preserved and ready to lionize
At the base, eyes outline and rise

Snowfall Dreams of a knight in bone
Armour so pure and times so alone
Collected series of parchment scrawls
Keep her quivering in anticipation thralls

Perched over tomes of his scribbled text
Turmoil inside him, with thirst perplexed
A repeated sentence straight down the page
"One day I shall free you of this cage."

Exact vows written through-out the pages
"Wait as I gather nihilistic sages"
"Wait as I build in power, in prep for you"
"Wait as I conquer all, that stand in view"

A sound so alien, so new, and so true
A disturbance, not of what, but of who
Startled so suddenly from her muse
Maybe rescue, thoughts her heart abuse

Did it come from a thought in lust
To be relieved of collecting dust
Isolation in shadows of a blinding white
Watch as I fall alone to my bed tonight
Into snowfall nightmares forcing fright
Rival history to change this blight
