December

By VVsinisterfairyVV

Bitter sweet, sugar plum phrases echo like bells within my mind.
Putrid honey flows from your perfect lips luring me home once again, against my will but with my undying permission.
Oh! The irony…
Bruises on my heart begin to heal in the birth of a new season of love.
The tears in my eyes fade slowly hearing the robin’s song of life anew and refreshed.
Hope rises like a flower reaching toward the sun,
This farce allows a smile to escape my stone-hardened face, which I acquired on this journey, but wish to throw aside in the light of your compassion.
Suddenly grey clouds roll in and a chill fills the air.
I see the ice in your eyes.
Not for the first time, not for the last…
Slivers of hopelessness begin to fall like the first snow, and I realize once again our love is a remnant of the season of death…
Winter’s December will always blanket us in the cold reality of a love that was once new, but never again to thaw in the warmth of souls connected.
December today…
December forever…
