A Moment of Death

By Lucklost

As soon I was stable and on my feet, Jack pushed me behind him and stood tall and proud with his chest out and arms at the ready for a fight. I looked at his broad shoulders and his burly build as he tried to intimidate his friends with his power stance. His spiked black hair looked greasy and quite unclean, his neck was exceptionally big with his meat. His cologne filled my nostrils with the sweetest smell of axe...the signature smell that makes me weak at the knees. Thats the only cologne I have a taste for. Axe. Well its not really cologne, its more like a body deodorant spray, but it smells like heaven to me. A few seconds later my vision started going out of focues. A ringing sounded in my ears as I went crazy it seemed; voices were arguing, stabbing at each other with decapitating words filled with utter rage. I could hear the basses and baritones rumbling in my ears, echoing through my brain as thunder...I tried to make out the words as the dizziness prevailed, but I couldn't understand the extremely deep and slowed 'blah blah blahs" that were entering through my ears. The room before me went spinning, a coleidescope image appeared of dark bodies morphing in a fun room mirror it seemed. I squinted my eyes and tried to focus on the man in front of me...but all I saw was a swirl of skin and clothes mixed into one. "WHAT IS GOING ON?" I tried to scream out in a voice similar to a banshee's. My voice sounded morphed, a foreign language coming out of my mouth. Confusion perplexed me as I tried to make out where I was, feeling around for something that would take me back to reality. Am I dying? Am I finally getting redemption? I tried to get up, but I stumbled onto a table and sat on a squishy but solid substance.

I felt a iron hand reach out and grab my gauche arm, cutting of my circulation of craziness to bring me back to my pathetic life as I felt a cold splash of water on the top of my head, cascading down the human rock face of this waterfall. I coughed and snapped back into reality, widening my eyes and looking around as my vision came back to me. I looked to the left at Maria, a beautiful Hispanic girl with flowing raven hair, who looked like she just had a heart attack. She stared at me like I was the ghost of her hauntings, leaning farther away from me that she looked like a giraffe reaching for a tree branch. Her eyes widened when I nodded at her, and she slowly started getting up until: "How'd you like it, eh?" Jack's thundering bass voice rang, silencing everyone in the dining hall. I slowly shook my head, my mouth hanging open as I looked up at the silhouette of Jack. He towered above me...standing at 5'11, his hefty figure at 180 pounds.
