My hero(in)

By drop dead des

I try my best not to think of you
Nothing I do can bring you back
All that you were
has long been reduced to ashes
but when I close my eyes
you're all I can see

I stay up many lonely nights
dreaming of what we used (to be)

No more midnights in the summer rain
or larking about in the misty graveyard
tripping on what cannot be seen
only to fall clumsily into each others arms

You were always my hero(in)

You left a hole in me
that can never be filled
Though many have tried
they all have failed

The happiness that I once felt
is but a (distant) memory

this was heartbreaking indeed. the (breaks) you took were fabulous, this poem is slow and you took time to bring tragedy through the moments needed. great write.
