That Which Strangles and Smothers Me

By riverdreams

Asphyxiated in sludge
Its strength I misjudge

Constricted by my own fatalistic point of view
The life I've known is now askew

A silver sheen of grime blankets my skin
It slithers and snakes and bares a grin

This blanket of guilt is my brutality
From which is the wreckage of my reality

The solution to rid this pollution is hard to find
There are no action-oriented thoughts in my mind

Only the invasion of my fatalistic view of that which
strangles and smothers me
