Lost in the blank

By brideoframbo

The sky is falling…
I have never been so cold in my life.
The snow is deep, the land is silent,
Not a single living thing stirs…

The sky is falling…
No wind to put to my back,
No lights on the horizon,
Completely alone in a frozen place…

The sky is falling…
The light fades to deep velvet.
No stars appear in the curtain,
No moon arching overhead…

The sky is falling…
Clouds dark, hanging expectant above,
Their offspring close to gestation,
Poised to burst forth from their heavenly space…

The sky is falling…
All from black transfigured to white
In an instant, blinding
Steadily, quietly theatening to strike my tracks
into oblivion…

…the sky hath fell. How shalt I find my way home...
