american dreams

By kazmir

(reworking of lyrics titled, "Let Freedom Bleed")

this is not an anthem
in this blood-drenched time
we will not take pride,
we will not be denied
and we are not at fault for your vicious crimes

oh say can you see
by the treacherous light
beautiful, forsaken skies
terrible, outspoken lies
do you see the seething
anger breathing in our eyes?
we were not born free
to obey, to run and hide
release us now
step down tonight
or we’ll give you something
you don’t wanna fucking fight

this is not an anthem
in this blood-drenched time
we will not take pride
we will not be denied
this is not an anthem
in this blood-drenched time
we will not take pride,
we will not be denied

and we are not to blame for your fucking crimes

don’t like the taste of your american dreams
just wanna make your america scream
cut the throat of a blinding flag
and let freedom bleed

this is not your anthem
let freedom bleed
