remember... (how we used to play)

By kazmir

disengage and play
tear at my skin
glare awhile at decay
swallow it away

disengage and play
in the valley of the shadow of death
tear at my skin
to see if i have any feeling left
peer inside
glare awhile at decay
let it die
swallow it away

remember back to the day
the blade was taken away
a friend of speed
is a friend in need
and I had to bleed
so I couldn’t concede
sleeping in the park
under a bush in the dark
no rest could comfort
ground into the dirt

disengage and play
in the valley of the shadow of death
tear at my skin
to see if i have any feeling left
peer inside
glare awhile at decay
let it die
swallow it away

remember how we used to run
into the night at the sight of the gun
dropped something of me
back when I couldn’t see
must have been vital
on the powdered hill
must have been real
that one true thrill
death in my midst, I sigh in despair
hollow, alone, choking on air

disengage and play
in the valley of the shadow of death
tear at my skin
to see if i have any feeling left
peer inside
glare awhile at decay
let it die
swallow it away

disengage and play
tear at my skin
glare awhile at decay
swallow it away
