I've Lost my Heart

By SluG

...And as that bashful face fluttered its beautiful eyes,
my heart danced with my tongue as I tried to find those
words that just never seemed to come out right. Looking deep
into my mind, and looking deep into my soul, it seemed as
though I lost my heart.

But she found it.

She picked it up, blew the rejection and pain off, and
placed it safely in her pocket, trying not to break it. Her
dark hair and bright eyes reflected the charm and genuine
friendship she offered with open hands. I looked deep into
my spirit, and into my cluttered room of emotions, but it
seemed as though I lost my heart.

But she found it.

With watery eyes and pouted lips, we danced to the music of
phone lines. We danced to the silence of quiet bedrooms. My
mouth says one thing, but my mind and heart scream for the
comfort that true feelings will bring.

I looked into myself, and deeply into my surroundings, but
I seemed to have lost my heart.

But you found it.
