Freaks
By MightofNight
(Anyone who has spent extended time with coffee and cigarettes in the wee
hours of the morning at Waffle House knows exactly what I'm talking about,
lol.)
Idle chatter, yes and no.
Dischordant, cacaphonous noise
Resound within these hallowed walls.
The lives of girls and boys
Reanimate in vivid life
As the midnight oil is burned.
You see things that you never thought
With new life lessons learned.
New friends, new faces, new enemies;
All are found in row
While eating, drinking merrily
We all join in the show.
Everyone shows up
At sometime through the weeks.
We're welcome here in our sacred place,
This family of freaks.
