Time
By Steven Jester
Running down the stairway
To my dark and dreary despair
I see to my dismay
A clock that I never thought was there
Time
Seemed to slow in its presence
Death stopped in favor of Life
And although I had a bit of hesitance
I looked on in spite of strife
At
The clock that didn’t exist
Or at least it hadn’t before
The clock that seemed not to resist
As it slipped into the floor
“Wait!”
I screamed as the clock disappeared
“Wait! I say wait! I want to see what’s there!”
“Too late,” said a voice that I feared
“Time’s up! Time no longer exists here!”
