Starting to Realize

Twelve hours since I said those hateful words.
I don't really want you gone,
But can't you change for me?
Look at me,
But pretend you're not,
A bigger thrill than the first
As you sit among hte gods of Bermuda
The leaders of its tired, huddled teenage masses.
For ninety more days,
The last time I'll sleep with you...
Sleeping ten miles away.

So here's my new year's resolution...
Not to say a word,
Not to pretend I need to let that happen
To be in love with you.
Even when you're gone,
You're always here,
Because I can't tell a fucking soul.
Oh, but the things I have said lately...
