Periodic Table of Friendship

By GraySky

The school is flooding,
And what a nice sound it makes.
We now have a cafeteria
As a safe haven.
But my friend,
Little secret smiles
Over by the lockers
Can't keep me afloat.
One lifeline alone is not enough
In this turbulent sea.
So as you all sit above
On your thrones of laughter,
Hypocrisy,
I look up from below,
The cool, blue beyond,
Hoping,
Wishing I could hold my breath for just that much longer,
Not having to speak,
But enjoying the company.
