Wisdom

By Psyanide

Not an empty promise, Not a broken dream
Not a nightmare's fever grip, As lost romance can be
Not so much a place, As so much a thing
Not forever gone, or lost... Past all hope and meaning

Only memory, as an echo, A soul's significance
Important, more than feeling, more telling than a glance
Keep a place inside; Keep alive within
Keep your fuel alight, free from such as sin
Awful, sore bitterness, Such hollow depths of cold
Evil is it's own reward, mistake, malignancy grown old
Castaway! These stains, no longer keep or carry
Keep Away! From things you Know you should be wary
Keep a candle, and ever lit, Always, solemly aflame
That source of virtue, pure and free
From pride and other shame
As bad outside, each day, as the world seems to be getting
All you are is all you have, So let done already
with all your regretiing
Concentrate, consider calmly, and keep your focus
Foremost in your mind, Remember always that you chose this

Not so many obstacles, and even those, were well-illumined
Still, I lost my way, Unbalanced, insecure, unwary of my doom
...I lost my way, but growing, ever forward,
Did I fight the good fight? Did I own my strength? My valor?
Course of conflict, so dilligently persist to win the day?
...Less pointed, less overt, were the errors in my path
All that ever mattered was freedom from eternal wrath
But lately, I had it coming, So miserable, it seems, without
Perfect picture, and crystal clear the glare inside
My flame had flickered out
Yet choice entails and beckons, freedom's privilege to go on
To make it better, and make it matter, better choices later on
...Followed me, found my weakness, never do I catch on
Memories pure, my biggest fear, alive and screaming from my heart
Pure tragedy, Unconsolable, such suffering, my immortal soul,
is?....gone....
