Pretty

By stumbleine queen

"I don't know what pretty is," she cried,
as she curled up in a ball to hide.
"I know I'm ugly on the outside,
There are just too many scars I've failed to hide"

He told her that she was beautiful,
But she just looked away with tearful eyes.
She desperately wanted to believe him,
But she's been fed way too many lies.

She said, "Just throw me away; I'm broken.
You don't want me; I'm deflicted.
Take my crimson blood as a token,
To remember me by, ugly and wicked"

There was nothing he could say to change her mind
She just can't see her beauty; She must be blind
She doesn't believe that she's pretty
She just doesn't know what it means.
