To Amanda (FINAL)

By Derelict Dream

There was a Dream once;
Cast away by it's Owner,
Now, that Dream is me.

Untold Memories;
Heavenly Troubadours Play.
But My Song Is Lost.

The one that bore me -
Into this Fierce, Hateful world,
Left me here to see...

See with Dreamers' Eyes,
Lovers' Hearts, and Poets' minds;
See what can I do.

...

In the Autumn wind -
Blown clean of Idlenesses,
Remembering Dreams.

I Began to write -
Song, Verse: Soul's Cantilever,
Pouring from my Zeal.

Should we dare to Dream,
Will we have any Nightmares -
No one ever knows...

But if we don't try,
How will we ever know Dreams -
They won't come to us.

...

Yearning for Winter,
Hopeing it will bring Terror;
I lay down to sleep...

Under Dark's Shadow,
I wait eagerly for them -
Still they never come.

And still I am lost;
Why can I not Dream Nightmares?
What is wrong with me?

My mind must abjure;
Again I must wait for night -
And, hopefully, Fright.

...

Time passes, clocks tick;
Still I wait for my next chance,
I know it comes soon...

Now so Desperate -
Unable to compensate,
I cannot give in...

To give up now is -
I believe with all my Heart,
Sincere Tragedy.

So here I stand now;
Lost in words of paraphrase,
Which way do I turn?

...

Then something hits me -
Something truly wonderful,
Amanda, 'tis you...

Never have I known,
Someone so remarkable;
Yet one still unknown...

I do not know you;
Simply know your acquaintance -
Yet that still may change...

I do know some things -
I read your work and we chat,
Now I call you friend...

...

And I'm glad it's so -
If we never speak again,
One thing is for sure...

You may have Nightmares,
And they may still elude me,
But one now can't come...

The most Terrible,
Horrid Nightmare would have been -
Not to have met you.

---+++---

So I give you this,
Tiny token, jumbled words;
Perhaps they will show...

I am truly lost;
Unable to Dream Nightmares -
But able to care...

Hopeful as times pass -
Wondering what lies ahead,
What Fright waits in bed...

===

Now we chat no more,
Someone outside closed the door -
We still speak some though.

Our tale has ended,
It was short, but it was sweet;
I'm glad we shared it.

So from here we part,
Go our seperate ways now -
Into the vast Dark.
