Won’t you listen? These words they’re sliding out (of) my mouth…

They’re starched and glisten, with thoughts and questions, strong and stout…

Now it’s December, and you have yet to call my name…

I’ll not remember that you said you would never change…

Now you’re coming back to make amends

For all the things that could have been

(but) this time I promise I’ll never let you through…

And you said that you would…never go away

But now I know that you were never gonna stay

So won’t you just go on and let me live my life

‘cause I don’t want to let you come and cut me with your knife…

that is your hand…

..[in your] hand…another picture of the past

You know I missed you

But now I know it couldn’t last

So would you trust me? If I just up and ran away?

But now I’m back here – no, I don’t think that you would stay…

But you’re coming back to make amends

For all the things that should have been

But this time I’ll try and forget about you too…

And you said (that) you would…never go away

But now I know that you were never gonna stay

So now I’m go-ing to let you walk out of my life

So I won’t wait for you to take me far away…

…no far away…far away…far away from here…you said far away…far away from here…
