the strange, yet familiar feeling of asphixiation.

By fucken_ke_ke

if the world was ever going to end,
it's doing just that right now.
because the walls are crumbling around me,
and the sky just keeps getting closer.
my heart burns for you tonight.

can't we just escape this chaos
and go somewhere a little more quiet for a while?
because i don't know how you feel,
but this is all just too much for me.
and i refuse to watch this beauty distill.
my heart cries for you tonight.

i want there to be a way out,
i want the key to the lock in this door.
but this time i'm trapped,
and you're not trapped with me.
my heart screams for you tonight.

you mean too much to me
and i don't mean enough to this world
to be left alone without my only security.
i think i'm drowning again,
and for the first time, you won't be pulling me out.
my heart longs for you tonight.

The simpler language here helped this work focus on the painful content. "The sky just keeps getting closer" was great, and I liked the progression of heart-emotions. It felt like it was missing something, though. I'm not sure what.
