False innocence

By whispers in the night

You lied to me all these years
Telling me of how hard it is and was
It couldn’t be that hard,
if the whole time you were buzzed
Your drugs can be your child, your anger your only friend
But leave me behind I no longer want to pretend

For the false innocence is gone
Its been thrown out that door
You pushed it to far
The mask is not needed anymore

How dare you, try to say
That I am naive to what it is you did and do
I just looked past it all these years
I covered it up with my blanket of tears
Stop your excuses and your goddamn lies
I am no longer a child
I can see through your eyes

For the false innocence is gone
Its been thrown out that door
You pushed it to far
The mask is not needed anymore
