tears of angels

i never thought
angels cried
i never knew they existed
until i saw her cry
as i watched her die
the lone tear
slid down her face
a picture i wish to erase
but it plays over and over
tears falling down her cheek
my knees go weak
seeing and feeling
so much pain and yet
something much more deep
i don't know what it is
somehting i've never felt
something i never knew existed
until i saw her
leaning over the water
ripples created by tears
washed away all my fears
i never knew
angels could cry
never knew as to why
as i watch this beauty
i will never see again
i don't know what to do
i sit and watch her
my heart beating
i ponder the idea of fleeting
my heart pounds in my chest
as i watch her die
i ask why
and before my eyes
she disappears into a light
what a beautiful sight
and left behind
are the ripples from her tears
tears of angels
i never knew existed
