uncle sam

By Deja vu

life aint what u promised me
i see only the eagle roams at ease
but youve got a third eye keepin watch on him/hes limited/not free
kids killin kids, babies havin babies, black on black crime
is this what u had in mind for self-destruction/we are all doin our own time
where is the peace u promised me
you said we can be whatever we want to be
bullshit, freedom aint what u said it would be
we are limited on what we can be,what we can achieve
tell about the fine line which u need a microscope to read
each individual is stuck in their own cage
with invisible walls with their thought process taught
that flag, the one i should pledge my allegiance
each star is a funeral i attended
the red, white and blue have all been bludgened to death
but all this you already know/why am i telling you this
we take care of our own because you dont give a shit
u love bulging your own pockets while the rest of us suffocate and choke
thats why were stuck in this cycle of each his own
steppin on each other to get to the fuckin throne
