Mirrors

By rage_angel

The reflection is backward
So how do we know it is real
Another world, another realm
On the other side
To watch and hide
We stare into the mirrors
Letting us see only what we want
Or what we think we see
Is it true or is it a lie
As we pass by
And stare at the reflection
The imperfections stare back
Or emphasize on what we lack
It doesn't show emotions
Or memories we possess
Only the beauty that makes us less
Less than perfect, more than human
A monster isn't the reflection you see
Because then it would be true
It'd be showing the real you
But we all know
Mirrors do lie
