Leather and Chimes

By shadowwv

I sit quietly fingers caressing the keyboard of my computer
Thoughts wandering as I extract some pertinent information
I shift my shoulders and a small smile emerges
The scent of the new leather choker floating in the air
The sweet chiming of the slave bells reaching my ears
Stress seeping away as imagination opens desired doors
And closes uncomfortable reality behind its gates
Fantasy entwining with memory and soothing the soul
Easing my mood upward and calming the reaction
Quelling slightly the workplace induced impatience
Reminding my spirit that there is tolerance elsewhere
That contentment and companionship lives outside
That trust does exist in the world at large
That not everyone has ulterior motives for their actions
The leather scent and chimes coil about me
As I slowly open my eyes to the beige and brown workplace
Glance at the clock and sigh contently
Minutes later rising in a soft peel of chimes and departing
Back into the real world of dreams and hopes
