i wish i could do more
this feeling of futility
harries and stays with me.
i close my eyes
and let the vision cascade.
knowing i am right
in standing in the shadows
but wanting so desperately
to be able to give more
to alter what is
to change the future.
but i cannot
not without trespassing
not without sacrificing
something i treasure
like nothing else.
so i stand in the shadows
and let the futile feelings
drown me in waves
as i stand idle.
