Artificial Flower

By gracefullytorn

neglected as though I was an artificial flower
dolled up to be pretty
but inside I know its not real
I was made to be ignored
no morining dew lays on my petals
I was created to collect dust
to look at, not smell or touch
some say Ive been given
the gift of eternity
but what kind of gift
causes pain, keeps you inside
while the others bask in the rain
their stems and leaves ever reaching towards the sun
those lucky ground dwelling roots
im crestfallen into lamentable repeating hours
ever the same, oh the shame
to immitate something ill never claim
i wish the blue fairy could make me into a real girl
and im stuck here, cast into the backround
wondering why im left behind

It made me think about how life is so fake too, and how people use make-up to cover up flaws and imperfections. Great write, I took feel like an artificial flower :/ ~Kirsten~
