Searching

By no_independence

Why should I be what you want me to be?
You say I should stand out and be heard
But when I do you push me down
Searching and searching

You tell me what’s wrong and what’s right
But who are you decide
I know that once you were like me
Not sure of who you are or what’s to be
Searching and searching

I stand here alone before the burdens of life
And I wonder if its worth it in the end
I cry to you to stand by me
To guide and teach me to be me
But you just walk away
Searching and searching

I search for who and what I am
And why I am here to wonder
I am alone on this strange and cruel world
Forever searching and searching
