cocaine baby

By Deja vu

cocaine baby
in an incubator you lay
no crying just a muffled sound of agony and pain
momma left you in a dumpster to die
but an angel found you and kept you alive
so tiny and fragile
i sit by your side and read a book, this baby got me shook
i doubt i'll be in your memory
you settle down and sleep now
but what slumber can you reach
when cocaine is in your system
and your body temperture is freezin
its hard to tell if your still breathin
i pray to god for him to stretch his hand to you little one
why is this song coming on like a preach?
is this a sermon i gotta teach?
a young mother who discarded her unborn like garbage
was she to high to understand
her pain will live on in her offspring
an angel came down when i drifted to sleep
this discarded child is now a child of god
may he forever sleep in peace
