Lost Angel

By ellie

A single tear drips from her opalescent eye
Suspended like a star in the darkened sky
A single angel lost and astray
Not one light burns to show her the way
She calls in a voice like a tinkling bell
Won't someone release me from this hell?
The innocent call flows through the night
Though the plea on no ones ears alights
Her brilliant eyes sparkle like two polished gems
A glow to the night the angel does lend
An angel far from heavens gates
Too small and pure to survive the straits
That the black like melted onyx brings
No hope has the poor lost soul to cling
Her graceful, delicate white wings of light
Now bent and broken from her fall to everlasting night
The beauty on her face so deep, it hurts
So perfect, so pure, it can be described by no words
Fear and terror lie in that heaven-filled face
And like a crystaline waterfall, the tears do trace
A path of woe down her ivory skin
One last fallen angel, alone and abandoned
Her black curls kiss the neverending night
Like brilliant rays of the suns sweet light
Flower petals that once dressed her hair
Fly off, leaving the sweet smell of lilac in the air
Then the delicious aroma fades into the black
And feathers like snowflakes drift from the angels mangled wings
Till the night takes them like power takes kings
One small innocent soul wandering like a cloud in the sky
Till the heavenly beings soft breath starts to die
Her frail light-filed body once blessed by the highest of all
Weakens and soon into the downward spiral of death will fall
The soft thud of the heart within her breast grows slow and stops
And the last sparkling diamond-like tear from her eye does drop
One last time her soft madder lips do draw
A breath for her body, so pure, no flaw
Her eyes slowly close, like an eclipse covers the moon
The perfect heavenly body forever to remain in this doom
Her innocent soul shines like a star in the night
As it rises from the angel, burning brilliant and bright
It floats through the darkness with heaven sent wings
From the lost fallen angel, so alone and afraid
