My happiness is a mask

By whispers in the night

My happiness
I wear it like a mask
Something invisible to thee
A shroud to cloud your eyes,
A veil you cannot see.
But my mask is just a scam,
An aspect of my game.
It hides the girl behind
The deceitfulness of my name.
But you still ask me what I am
Behind this disguise
And yet you request the truth
Well the truth is only a lie
A mirage within a dream,
A ghost of a fragile child,
I am a fantasy
Something that’s too hard to contain…
Something that is wild
This mask conceals
Everything of me
The silent tears that no one can
Touch, feel, or see
