game

By red_haze

calm desert
sand and sand and sand
yellow waves
crashing
slipping silently
backward

an endless journey
passing through
my head
and i see
refracted reflection
not smiling

wasted mind
i laugh and laugh and laugh
but deep inside
labyrinthine
seemingly simple
i am lost

and your hand
not shaking
long fingers
reaching
twists temptingly
out of reach

with your breath
you lie and lie and lie
your eyes
sincere
honestly hiding
secrets

and my trouble
you found
an easy pleasure
watching
patiently passing
the time

I can hear this whispered in my head... the repetition of words ("sand and sand and sand," etc.) gives it a great deal of beauty and strength.
