Guardian Angel

By LateNightThoughts

My physical being cannot compare,
To the life I've wished to live far from here.
I would feel no pain,
Have no sorrow to bare.
Only wise words,
That someday I'd share.
I'd lead the people,
To a live they'd love.
Spare them from hatred, and shed blood.
I would show them the way,
Just to hear them say
"My angel paid a visit today."

I would choose to be light,
In the dark of day.
Slay the demons,
And send them away.
No need for prayers,
Or stray tears.
For I would be there,
Warding away fears.

I would be hope,
To the ones who are lost.
Show them how it feels to be loved.
Let them feel me,
Through a single touch.

Just to know I'm here,
Watching over,
And counting the days.
Til I hear them say
"My guardian angel never strays.
She's here with me, showing the way."
