a map to nowhere - one

By TheCellphoneNovelist

one ; a map to loss ; a map to ruin,
a ringed city ; automaton ; the last snow
settles on edges of roofs ; children running,
laughing ; throwing snowballs at each other ;
glowing faces ; bellies full ; campfires ; one of them
will get sick and burn out ; a map to loss,
a link to fire, but all flames fade eventually ;
it’s impossible to hear the ashen song in snow ; a map
to ruin ; children lie still and fade and burn
to cinder ; snow melts and drowns the fire ;
