Resurgent Mania

By coagulatewithin

Where have you been all this time
Wondering would you stay
If you were in my place
And the fault had truly been mine
I know for a fact
There's wounds in my back
I desperately seek to cauterize
But I'm trapped in the black
I cannot react
Cause I'm frozen completely, supine
Resurrect the only thing
I've pondered on since death
Such beauty clouds
What disavowed
The piece of me that's left
It seems as though
From head to toe
I've longed to feel your breath
Ten thousand pounds
Have crushed me down
My heart remained intact
Crawling on your hands and knees
You fell from up above
How can it be
So gut wrenching
The way you dance with love
I've often thought
No matter what I'll never be enough
Focus on the moment
What's important is you're here
You've made it through
With insides blue
And somehow lost all fear
Cherish every footstep
Cause it just might be your last
Continue strong
Move along
And leave it in the past
