imagined whispers
Ebony sea
velveteen and soft
lifeless
but for
the touch of shadows
Ancient darktide
endless and eternal
penetrating
seeping into
a racing heart
Colorless pitch
faceless and empty
cold
save for
the heat of fear
Silent night
secretive and mysterious
unknowable
to all
but the chosen
