Gravedigger

By A poet of madness

Hey gravedigger
Does the sun still shine?
After you buried your family
Are you still fine?

Hey gravedigger
A dark shadow hangs over you
Does she whisper nightmares?
Do you come back
To find peace within yourself?

Hey gravedigger
Its okay to break down
You need to talk to someone
You need to open up somehow
A soldier can't fight without sleep
Without love
Without a reason to be

Hey gravedigger
I cry when i think of what you've seen
One tooth, one finger, dog tags melted in gasoline
You've seen friends come back in pieces
Mentally or physically
Or not at all
You're the one who had to search
And often make the call

Hey gravedigger
I want you to know
I am here for you
