A seductive suicide

By Half-Dead Agonist

A bright sun beams down on me,
Along with many others,
That walk this worn trail,
Tread by so many before us.

A longing whisper within throws me to the side,
Of the path seen too often,
My feet step upon few twigs,
And my head glides under the branches.

Soon I see a waterfall,
Far away from the chosen path,
And it welcomes me into its waters,
So I step into its gentle warm bath.

I leave some traces of my presence,
And the night has fallen fully,
The brightest star falls behind the moon,
As I let the water flow over me.

The sun no longer rises,
The moon and star stand unchanging,
And all I do is swim,
I swim in the night alone.

The imagery was so wonderful. It actually reminds me of a waterfall not too far from home. great job!
