The Light

By Moose

Is there something in this life for me?
Is there a chance that I will ever be free?
Free from that which holds me down
And never lets me leave the ground.

Is there someone in this life for me?
Is there a person who can set me free?
Free from what keeps me stagnant
And never lets me live my dream.

Do I really want to leave
These chains behind?
Or Am I clinging to them
Because I’m blind?

There is daylight in this life for me.
I know there is—I can see.
See my life in front of me
Waiting for me to become free.
