The Dark Unknown

By Introverted Veteran

The path to take is seldom hidden,

Yet not the one to which is bidden.

Boldly striving for the untold,

Quickly thwarted when shadows enfold.

All alone in a sea of night,

Searching for a source of light.

Look ahead to what's in store,

Always seeing nothing more.

Heavy work, I like the way the brevity plays with the heaviness of the topic. Great write.
