I sit and wait

By johnbevan17

These words that I'm speaking,
Just don't come out right,
No one understands me,

Feel like I'm falling,
Drowning from the silence,
Muted by the crashing of the waves,
People go on their merry way,
Oblivious to what I try to speak,
Say,

I scream at the top of my voice,
But no on seems to care,
Sometimes I wonder if I'm just here,
Or if I was ever there,

Invisible without a voice,
A shadow on a crowded street,
No body notices me anymore,
To busy,
To listen,

Care,
They push me out the way,
As if I wasn't there,
Try to get the attention of a passerby,
If only they could see the tears,
The pain I feel inside,

They walk down the street,
Eyes fixed to their phones,
Rushing to the office,
Or desperate to get home,

So I sit here waiting,
For someone to see me,
Who'll listen,
To the things I have to say,
I only want a friend,
Someone to talk to,
Maybe someday.
