Internal Warfare

By Bittersweet Life

It crawls through the folds in your brain
And creeps in the recesses of your mind
It tugs at you from behind your eyes
And tears out from within your heart
Words stuck in your throat
Breath caught in your lungs
It’s a boiling lake
Churning in your stomach
Unseen from the outside
The internal battle rages
Fed by your fears
The seed of doubt grows
