Invalid’s Fate

By silverwolf

Her vision is clouded
blurred by her recent loss
Her heart is shattered
broken by love’s cost
No one is there to shelter
her naked form from the world
None have noticed her subjugation
and the tight ball into which she’s curled
Alone, she has walked this path
devoid of hope and light
She can’t go any farther
she isn’t able to fight
Despair has come to call
as her eyes lightly mist
She will welcome this honored guest
as the blade dances across her wrist
