Dear Mother...

By BoyBackFromWar

Dear mother,
Please forgive me for
what I have done to you.
I know nothing can
numb the pain I caused.

I still remember your cries
on that dark day I left.
And now as sands of time
dictate my last moments
in this godforsaken place
far from my home, the
bright shadows of past
sharp as daggers
pierce my heart.

Please forgive me...

I think your heart-felt apology and your love will numb any pain caused. I just read through all of your poems and this is the sweetest poem I've read in a very long time. All of your poems are quite powerful. Thanks for sharing.

Very well written.. I am having issues with my mother right now.. And I can't even bare to talk to her....it's been a few months.. You had the strengh to go as far as saying sorry. Lots of courage. And sending lots of love you way.
