Beginning to Heal

By Elf

years of confusion,
followed by years of fear,
culminating into one final event,
then months of anger and sorrow,
and trying to forget

sorrow welling up,
tears spilling out,
pain threatening to tear me apart

trips to psychiatrists,
pretending to be fine,
yelling contests,
when all the blame is placed on me,
when i am not allowed to express the pain

then-
friends, those whom are, always, have been, and always will be much better family to me than those i am related to by blood,
i am once again surrounded by them, at the start of school,
i have never before now so rejoiced in it's coming;
classes begin,
did you know? i'm taking theatre-it's wonderful,
method acting,
these are
finally
letting me
begin
to heal.

hey, if you don't know, method acting is using connections in your life to the role your playing. we've been working with that in theatre, and it's painful-but it's making me a better actor, and connecting to and reliving and expressing the pain, well it'
