A Treatise on the State of the World

By rwb35

Here we stand in the age of subjugation
Forsaken by the failed Aquarian design
Here we watch in growing frustration
As the petulant elite commit the same crimes
The travesty as history repeats
Standing on the edge of genocide
Only watching is veiled disbelief
With no one rising to stem the tide
How can we live in this state of denial?
How can we break the mold?
As humanity is put, once again, on trial
Where is the salvation that was foretold?

How far we are from Eden's embrace
The temptation, the fall, the first disgrace
Lucifer laughing at what we have become
Orphaned children of Paradise
Lost on the wings of an unforgiving sun
Lead by fools believing their own lies
The deception goes on and on
Like sheep to the slaughter of innocence
Trying to deny the rapture of new dawn
Drones of flaccid complacence
Trapped in a war, still not won
Oh Savior when will you come?

How we unleashed the dogs of destruction
How we tasted that bitter fruit
Slaves of death's construction
So far away from the final truth
Are we just a legion of the damned?
Striving for a breath of absolution
Do we kneel in contrition, or do we stand?
Divinities trumps on the horizon
Broken halos on brimstone paths
We, in the center, with no escape found
Breathlessly screaming out our plea
Oh God, where are you now?
