Nowhere

By rwb35

Where were you,
When I was out there in the cold
When I was feeling so damn old
Out where the loneliness takes hold
And you were nowhere
At least nowhere that I could find
And you were nowhere
Somewhere off biding your time
Plotting your perfect crime
While all the while
I was stepping on your landmines
I was being torn apart
With nothing left of my heart
A ship lost without a chart
On a moonless night without a star
To guide me to your shores.

You peeled away the viscera
Exposing the meat inside
You stripped me of my dignity
You left me with no place to hide
You left me with no place to hide
And you were nowhere (x3)

Where were you
When the hatred did consume
Alone in this empty room
And I'm still here waiting
Waiting for you to tell me why
You never once heard me cry
Against the shame you can't deny
When you left me here
Drowning in my tears
Watching our love die
And you were nowhere.
