Mechanical Messengers - Angel II: Corruption

By Mad Hatter

-Heaven_

I'm a mechanical angel and I've been sent here to say,
Your god is factory made, and through your money,
You too can be saved

-

Your loyalty has always been weighed
By your thin-paper faith,
As it always will,
Whether pages of a book
Or on dollar bills.

Donate to church, own the flashiest cross,
You think your god will love you any more?
As though sins can be saved by spending?
Well if such is the case...

Put thy trust in thy money,
It reads "In God We Trust"
Your naivety is funny,
As this factory rusts.

-

I'm a mechanical angel and I've come here to say,
That compared to a rich man wearing Jesus,
A poor man with nothing has more faith.
And through your money...
You CAN'T be saved.
