Thirst

By Erotic Asphyxiation

The world is in my hands
Possession brings the unquenchable thirst to destroy it

Sweaty palms pressed on pavement
Awaiting bullets to the back of the head
A noise too desperate to be a laugh
Tears from the throats
With lies dripping from every pause all

Eyes averted from the prize
Stiff backs from shrugging
The weight of 7 billion hearts
Bleeding for paradise
Beating for a dream that

Struggling stops
For just a moment
A brief pause in
The unfiltered
All accepted

Untruths revealed by
Bloody knuckles and broken
Hearts that got tired of beating
For a lie
Every beat is mourning the loss of

A pair of glasses
Lenses tinted a pink so
Thick they could be

Rose petals dropping
From wire frames
Wrapped into a brain shriveled from disuse
Wrinkled from soaking in
Toxins that kill more than just the

Rainforests dry to deserts
Sand muffles the cries for paradise
Soft whines for lies echo to the bare sky
Pleading for just a drop of
Toxin coated sugar to quench the

Thirst for destroying the world goes on
Grains of sugar
Once sand
Cake joints
Torn from a ceaseless battle
A broken heart still beats
The mourning ends and

Placed in the back of an overactive head
Delusional with the unquenchable
Thirst for revenge
