Mental illness is no joke
Did you consider that before those words you spoke
I am the shadow you rarely note
Yet beneath you I am always afloat
You gave me my name
I was created to take the blame
We are one in the same
Having given me birth still you complain
Standing in your place
I am all you disgrace
Look in the mirror beyond the  face
The meds have not removed a trace
Your background melody I sing
Backstage we share a fling
My gentle touch has a bit of sting
To my every word you cling
I'm trying to help you grow
You need only let go
I have taken every blow
Blaming me hasn't helped this you know
Always the advocate for I'm fine
Between us you try to draw a line
But I thank you for this time
In which you let me share this basic rhyme

The third and forth line were definite favorites for me. A shadow and beneath you I float are such powerful words and really stick out among the rest. All in all, a really good read.
